Just 15 minutes from the M6.

From junction 40 take the A66 west towards Keswick. After 7.5 miles turn left on to the A5091 towards Dockray. The hamlet of Matterdale End is 2.5 miles along this road. On the right look out for a barn with a lane signed no through road to the right of it. Take this lane which zig-zags steeply up to Bank House Farm, which is the last building on the left.
